Written on : 08 March 2019

Ibiza’s gorgeous warm and sunny weather deserves a villa where it can fully be appreciated, with a beautiful garden where you can enjoy the rays in all their glory. With wide and open terraces, cushioned lounge areas, long stretches of green lawns and bursts of exotic plants, these are some of the best villa gardens in Ibiza.

Villa 879, South

Villa 879, South

The entire grounds of the southern Villa 879 exude an atmosphere of the magical: creative arrangements of stones, little pathways leading to fire circles (with wooden stumps for you to sit on), huge canvas-covered outdoor lounge areas with cushions and fabrics to stretch out on, a garden teepee with a bed inside...it’s a true paradise garden for all those who appreciate relaxing in the open air.

There’s a perfect combination of sunny and shaded areas, where cover is provided by the stretched canvas awnings, the floating curtains of the outdoor four-poster beds, and the lush green surrounding trees. At this villa you are invited to breathe; all the exterior areas are large and open, from the spacious barbeque and dining area, encircled by elegant white curtains drifting in the breeze, to the huge poolside patio that opens up to the blue sky. The pool has tiered depths, and a charming wooden-plank walkway in the middle that appears to float on water. Here you can rest your arms up on the edge of infinity, gazing at the deep blue ocean horizon. Or maybe you would rather enjoy the ocean view whilst swaying in one of the many hammocks?

Dominated by towering yet graceful palm trees, the garden of Villa 815 invites lazy sunny afternoons sprawled out on its huge tiered lawns, swimming along the great curve of the pool, or resting on one of the many loungers. An interesting feature of the pool is the domed gazebo set in the middle of it, with recessed seating providing a cooler spot out of the heat. Bright tasseled parasols in alternating colours encircle the pool on the stonework patio, providing necessary breaks in the shade.

Indeed, the villa has no shortage of lovely outdoor shaded areas where you can admire the glorious colours that the sun brings, and has a veranda running the full length of the house. Here, there are long cushioned sofas, wicker chairs surrounding tables and ornate lamps that emit an air of the exotic, and you can see the twinkle of ocean in the distance. Or, enjoy your haven of calm and tranquility from the lounge chairs of the wooden balconies, looking out over woodland.

The villa also has a hot tub, a barbeque, and, when you manage to pull yourself away from your private paradise, the stunning beaches of the Northeast coast are just 10 km away.

For families that desire a colossal lawn where everyone has the space to run around and play games for days on end, this is the one. Or, lay a blanket down and enjoy your gigantic private sunbathing haven. Of course, you could relax on one of the many cushioned outdoor beds under their sun umbrellas also.

The finca is situated in an area surrounded by beautiful green hills, which can be admired from anywhere in the garden. Within the garden itself, you also have many lovely colourful flowers, trees and dangling vines from trellises. The stone patios merge seamlessly with the lawns, creating stepping stones from the sea of green before forming into cosy seating areas. There are several of these charming stone courtyards, which have an authentic Mediterranean feel to them through their white walls and staircases leading to roof terraces, in amongst flourishes of vegetation.

There are so many delightful places to spend a tranquil few hours in this garden, swimming back and forth in the rectangular pool, resting in the secret corners beneath the canopies of the smaller trees, or enjoying a meal on the covered dining terrace.

Villa Payoa, North

Villa Payoa, North

Villa Payoa in the North of Ibiza is a sleek, modern vision with clean-cut edges, where a protruding box ceiling provides the shelter for the scenic outdoor dining area. Everything follows this system of smooth lines in the landscaping and design, from the long 19 metre rectangular pool, the bordering wooden plank walkways and the rectangles of lawn and gravel areas. It’s a tamed natural space, however that does not lessen the undeniable beauty of the property. Just beyond the perimeter of the luxurious grounds is a view over the surrounding wild and thriving forests and hills.

Sprawl out on one of the four-poster outdoor beds, with thatched ceilings that offer a pause from the sun. Large cacti and exotic trees and plants dot the gardens, filling the garden with vibrant colours. The horizon is very wide here, giving the impression of endless natural greens and sky blues stretching off into the distance. To make the most of such a picturesque location, the entire living room side of the house is made of glass to take in the full breadth of the scenery.
